Questioning Dogma

  1. A principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true.
  2. Point of view or tenet put forth as authoritative without adequate grounds.

I believe most people involved in paddlesports like to think of themselves as open minded and resistant to becoming trapped in dogma. However occasionally it may sneak into our thoughts, behaviours, and culture.

I thought it would be useful to write occasional short articles examining potential dogmas. These articles will also look at the skill from a pragmatic perspective; why is it required, what is require, how can that be best achieved?

Enjoy :)
